This fabric is extremely tightly woven and is commonly used in aerospace and other high quality applications. Meets MIL-C-9084C, Type III. Our carbon braid is sold by the pound from the manufacturer. Yield is based on a feet-per-pound ratio because of its tendency to elongate significantly. Most other carbon is pulled off of a spool and cut at its stretched length, dramatically affecting yield. This Carbon Braid from ST&G has a 12K strand count, and it is designed for improved polyester and fiber interface. It features decreased fraying, which results in less dust. Available in 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 inch widths, and 10 and 50 foot lengths. -
For smooth, conforming, light and strong lamination. Thinner and lighter without sacrificing strength. Conforms and wets out better with resin. Cost comparable to regular carbon.
