All Ortho Active Neoprene is:

1. 100% Limestone-based – Features independent, closed microcells filled with nitrogen gas, providing superior insulation, lightness, warmth, and flexibility. More durable and resistant to damage. Limestone-based neoprene is a more eco-friendly alternative to traditional neoprene, replacing petroleum with calcium carbonate from limestone, and provides a safer material for medical device use.
2. High-oleic Plant Oil – High-oleic plant oil is used as a plasticizer and softening agent in the production of our eco-friendly neoprene. It replaces the traditional petroleum-based plasticizers to create a more sustainable and oxidation-resistant rubber. High-oleic oils are more stable and resistant to oxidation compared to conventional plant oils, which improves the material’s durability and lifespan. The oil is considered non-toxic and low-allergen, contributing to the safety profile of the final product, specifically in medical device applications.
3. PAHs-free Carbon Black – PAH-free carbon black is a specialized form of carbon black with significantly reduced or eliminated Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons, and is used in sensitive applications like medical devices where human contact is high and is more expensive due to its complex production.
